This (below) is the latest position statement from the DoH on accessing anti virals for the social care work force:
Currently arrangements are as part of The HPA's contact tracing . ie those contacts of someone confirmed with swine flu are given anti virals to take now this would include health and social care staff . ( there is a protocol for defining a contact)
Arrangements for the use of anti virals for health and social care staff should we move to mitigation are still being discussed so unfortunately I cant yet provide any detail on what the arrangements might be.
The Voluntary Organisations Disability Group (VODG) is an umbrella group of national voluntary sector providers of social care support to disabled people.
